2026 Honda Passport Sales Boom! Why It's Selling Like Hotcakes (2026)

The automotive world is buzzing with excitement as the new Honda Passport continues to fly off dealership lots, proving that this mid-size SUV is more than just a pretty face. But here’s where it gets controversial: while the Passport’s sales surge is impressive, it’s still a fraction of what Honda’s other SUVs are achieving. Is this a sign of untapped potential, or is the Passport simply carving out its own niche? Let’s dive in.

Earlier this year, the 2026 Honda Passport made its debut, and it’s safe to say it hit the ground running. With significant upgrades, this SUV has become a hot ticket item for buyers. By the end of September, Honda had sold a staggering 41,450 units, marking a 74.8% increase compared to the same period in 2024. And the momentum didn’t stop there—November saw a record-breaking 4,363 Passports find new homes, pushing the year-to-date sales to 50,530 units, a 73.2% jump from 2024. To put that in perspective, in November 2024, Honda had only sold 29,172 Passports.

But here’s the part most people miss: while the Passport’s growth is the highest among Honda’s lineup, it’s still a relatively small player compared to its siblings. The CR-V, for instance, has already surpassed 368,000 units this year, followed by the HR-V with over 137,000 and the Pilot with just above 113,000. Yet, the Passport’s 73.2% increase outshines even the Prologue, which saw a 52.2% rise—the next best performer. This raises the question: Can the Passport ever catch up, or is it destined to remain a niche favorite?

And this is where it gets even more intriguing: Honda’s new Prelude hybrid coupe has quietly entered the U.S. market, with 30 units sold so far in 2025. While it’s too early to draw conclusions, its performance in the coming months could signal a shift in consumer preferences toward hybrid options. Could this be a game-changer for Honda’s future lineup?

Here’s a closer look at Honda’s 2025 sales performance:

| Model | November 2025 Sales | 2025 YTD Sales | YTD Increase/Decrease |
|-----------------|--------------------------|---------------------|---------------------------|
| Honda Accord | 10,613 | 134,686 | -9.0% |
| Honda Civic | 17,353 | 220,485 | -1.3% |
| Honda Prelude | 30 | 30 | 0.0% |
| Honda CR-V | 39,421 | 368,618 | 1.4% |
| Honda HR-V | 10,821 | 137,308 | -1.2% |
| Honda Odyssey | 5,492 | 81,900 | 13.9% |
| Honda Passport | 4,363 | 50,530 | 73.2% |
| Honda Pilot | 9,234 | 113,686 | -11.0% |
| Honda Prologue | 903 | 38,262 | 52.2% |
| Honda Ridgeline | 3,352 | 44,823 | 8.4% |

Overall, Honda’s sales are largely on the rise, with only a few models experiencing slight declines. The Pilot, for example, is down by 11.0%, but a refreshed 2026 model is set to hit dealerships soon, which could turn the tide. Similarly, the Accord and Civic saw minor dips of 9.0% and 1.3%, respectively.

Switching gears to Acura, the luxury brand’s MDX remains its top seller, with 37,512 units sold in 2025. However, sales are down by 16.8% compared to last year. The RDX has also taken a hit, dropping by 26.4%. Interestingly, the now-discontinued TLX sedan has seen a modest 5.8% increase, with 7,424 units sold. Meanwhile, the Integra continues to lead Acura’s sedan segment, with 18,462 units sold this year.

Here’s Acura’s 2025 sales breakdown:

| Model | November 2025 Sales | 2025 YTD Sales | YTD Increase/Decrease |
|---------------|--------------------------|---------------------|---------------------------|
| Acura ADX | 2,837 | 17,313 | 0.0% |
| Acura Integra | 1,944 | 18,462 | -17.8% |
| Acura MDX | 3,309 | 37,512 | -16.8% |
| Acura RDX | 2,491 | 28,917 | -26.4% |
| Acura TLX | 639 | 7,424 | 5.8% |
| Acura ZDX | 22 | 11,962 | 115.8% |

In total, Honda sold 91,582 vehicles in November, a 1.8% year-to-date improvement. Acura, despite a November slowdown, moved 11,242 units and is up 1.9% on the year, with over 121,000 vehicles sold so far.
