The Golden Bachelor's Mel Owens Teases the Final Rose: 'I Know Who It Is'
As the season 2 finale of The Golden Bachelor approaches, Mel Owens is giving away hints about his choice for the final rose. With hometown dates airing on October 22, 2025, the anticipation is building for the long-awaited fantasy suites episode.
Mel has narrowed it down to three strong contenders: Debbie Siebers, a 65-year-old Denver fitness professional who has never been married; Cindy Cullers, a 60-year-old retired biomedical engineer from Austin and a divorced mother of three; and Peg Munson, a 62-year-old retired firefighter and bomb tech from Las Vegas, and a divorced mom of one.
However, Mel is dropping subtle clues about his upcoming finale, which will take place in the picturesque setting of Antigua.
"ABC put on a great production," he told Us Weekly in an interview on October 22. "We went to Antigua. I've never been there before, but the scouting, setup, and attention to detail were exceptional. It's a stunning location."
When pressed for more details, Mel remained tight-lipped but hinted at a strong emotional connection. "I know who it is," he said. "It's a really emotional moment. You feel a bit nervous, but it's brilliant. It's so good, you won't believe it."
"And the journey to get there was incredible," he added. "Not just the mechanics, but the emotional path. There were twists and turns along the way."
Despite the suspense, Mel acknowledges the challenges of making tough decisions later in the season. He admits to creating a pros and cons list for the women, a rare move for him. "I usually don't make those lists, but writing things down adds a layer of meaning," he explained. "I wanted to capture my initial impressions, the positives, negatives, and neutral feelings. It didn't significantly influence my decision, but it helped me reflect."
"It was a difficult process," he continued. "I was trying to determine who would be the best fit for me, who I would enjoy spending time with. The hometowns were all fantastic, but there's an undeniable pull towards one person over another. I trusted my instincts."
Following the hometown dates on October 22, viewers can expect a 'Women Tell All' episode on October 29, followed by the highly anticipated finale on November 5.
